This Japanese maple emerges in spring a deep purple-red color and holds the red color better than other varieties. In the fall the foliage turns a rich crimson color. It will develop into a sizable tree relatively quickly then slows down as it reaches maturity. Plant sun to part shade. Zones 5-9
