Cercis canadensis 'Burgundy Hearts'

Commonly called a redbud this selection has excellent color retention.  It is more resistant to summer leaf scorch than older maroon leaved cultivars.  Rosy-purple flowers are followed by red-purple new foliage turning to wine-red burgundy in the summer that holds well throughout the fall.  Flowers early in the spring with pink flowers.  Leaf color is purple.  Plant in full sun.  Zone 5-9.
