Description
Spring leaflets emerge a glossy mahogany-red, resembling molten chocolate. This intense color compliments the medium-sized lavender flowers. 8" in bloom, with a second growth flush to 12". One of the earliest epimediums to bloom. Also, semi-evergreen. Plant in well-drained yet moist fertile soil in dappled shade or morning sun. Once established may tolerate dry shady gardens.
