Comes from the Slavic region of southeastern Europe. An early-flowering hepatica with large blue flowers and sizable, almost leathery, five-lobed leaes. Fast growing and offsets freely. This is one of the largest and only one that has a spreading habit. Shade/part shade. Moist, well-grained and likes lime. (Z4-8)
