(D. Dean 2020) Like the swift rapids in an otherwise meandering stream, this new hybrid from Don Dean is captivating. A seedling of (H. Swoosh seedling x H. High Kicker) x H. Astral Bliss' H. Country River Rapids has lightly dimpled leaves of soft blue-green with narrow, yellow, rippled and ruffled margins. The leaf tips are pulled under, as if caught in a strong current, and the sturdy leaf texture keeps the plant looking fresh all season. Hosta H. Country River Rapids quickly grows into a mesmerizing mound about 17" tall and 32" across that blooms with light lavender flowers in late summer.  (Plants and photos were shared with us from Josh Spece at In The Country Garden & Gifts)
