Like the swift rapids in an otherwise meandering stream, this new hybrid from Don Dean is captivating. A seedling of (H. Swoosh seedling x H. High Kicker) x H. Astral Bliss' H. Country River Rapids has lightly dimpled leaves of soft blue-green with narrow, yellow, rippled and ruffled margins. The leaf tips are pulled under, as if caught in a strong current, and the sturdy leaf texture keeps the plant looking fresh all season. Hosta H. Country River Rapids quickly grows into a mesmerizing mound about 17" tall and 32" across that blooms with light lavender flowers in late summer.
