This hardy Red Switch Grass is ideal for growing in decorative containers as well as the garden. Forms a tight, vase-shaped clump off blue-green foliage that begins turning wine red in early summer. By late summer, nearly the entire clump is drenched in color and is topped by wine-red flower panicles held just above the foliage. This grass provides important cover for the birds during the coldest days of winter. Plant full sun. Low water needs. Native to North America. Zone4-9
