This is called a red moss phlox.  The deep pink flowers with red eyes appear between May and June.  Moss phlox is a tough evergreen ground cover for hot, dry areas.  The very bright deep pink flowers almost cover the foliage.  A New England Native.  Plant Sun/Part Shade.  (Hardy to Zone 3)
